FARMING IN BALANCE

Our Wild Kite wines are grown and made at Arun Valley Vineyard, set within one of the UK’s most biodiverse landscapes. The River Arun winds through weald clay and chalk grasslands from the South Downs to Arundel and the coast, while the Surrey Hills rise behind our vines. Each field is framed by ancient oaks – with one home to the wild kites that inspired our name.

Terroir sits at the heart of our wines. Our rare mix of clay, silt and sand brings depth and complexity - particularly to our still wines – setting us apart from many English vineyards rooted in chalk or greensand.

Biodiversity and sustainability guide everything we do. The vineyard is a living ecosystem, rich with flora, insects and birdlife - from tiny nests cradled between vines to spiders threading webs through the soil and wildflowers weaving colour between the rows.

We farm regeneratively to restore soil health, build soil carbon and reduce chemical inputs, nurturing a self-sustaining ecosystem. We work closely with Rory Pinnegar and Cameron Roucher of Vinescapes, the UK’s leading vineyard management specialists, whose expertise helps guide the care of our vines.

In 2026, we joined the One Block Challenge, led by WineGB and the Regenerative Viticulture Foundation, collaborating with like-minded vineyards across the UK and beyond.

From the outset, we converted all machinery, including most recently our generator, to biodiesel, cutting tractor emissions by around 90% and eliminating fossil-fuel diesel from both vineyard and winery.

Together, it all contributes to create high quality wines that are truly woven into the landscape.
